Recruiting, retaining and developing engaged and motivated employees is one of the most challenging jobs that dealerships face today.

To help make the process easier and more effective, NADA has created a new Talent Management seminar, which NADA’s Director of Program Development Megan Dolan shared for the first time at the NADA Show 2024 Live Stage on Sunday, Feb. 4.

“Dealers have known that talent management is important for a long time but it’s hard for them to go through the steps without a clear strategy, and that’s what this course is for,” Dolan said.

The new, two-day, in-person course is activity-based – students will practice in the classroom and develop skills that they can take back to the dealership. Activities and materials will be based on the five steps of the employment cycle – recruiting, hiring, onboarding, developing and retaining employees through the lens of culture and engagement. Dolan recommends that anyone who conducts hiring or interviews candidates should consider taking the course.

The course will take place at NADA’s headquarters in Tysons, Virginia, May 16-17. For dealerships that are signed up for the NADA Education Subscription service, the Talent Management course is included in that offering. Otherwise, the cost for the two-day program will be $1,495.
